Crimson Tweed
by Sue Spargo
Crimson Tweed is a festive quilt designed by Sue Spargo that lends itself to a variety of creative stitches and embellishments.  This 9 month BOM, beginning in June, will use cotton fabrics for the background and borders along with hand-dyed woolens, hand-dyed velvets and a few cotton fabrics for the applique shapes.  Our color way differs from Sue’s in that we have gone with a warm, soft brown hue for the backgrounds versus gray.  The kit will include basic embellishments like rick rack and ribbon used as stems, etc.  Special embellishment threads are not included.  Finished quilt size 39 X 51.
  • $20.00 Registration Fee
  • $34.95 per month for 9 months
  • Book sold separately $25.00
  • $4.00 shipping
Also, we will be running this BOM as a stitch along on our Facebook group, The Olde World Woolies. Everyone will be encouraged to share how they have embellished their project.  We will be giving tips on applique with velvet, how to make bias stems, how to couch rick rack and many other tips.  At the time of registration please let us know if you would be interested in joining a Crimson Tweed embellishment club at the Shoppe.  This will start in the fall and will be taught by Monica Jansen.  Just bring the blocks you make during the summer, whip stitched down and Monica will be providing suggestions and support for embellishing your blocks.
